Y Combinator has announced that its Startup School will be held in Lagos from June 27 to August 10, 2022.

One hundred founders will be hosted at Paystack’s headquarters in Lagos, where Y Combinator alumni, Paystack's co-founder, and CEO, Shola Akinlade will tell the Paystack story.

Startup School is a compilation of the best advice Y Combinator’s alumni/partners have offered themselves or gathered from experts in the field. It is a live, online course where YC Group Partners and successful YC founders teach startup founders how to build a billion-dollar company.

Founders get to do live talks, ask questions covering all core topics around building a startup, attend local in-person meetups, find a co-founder, and listen to YC alumni as they share their stories.

Startup School 2022 will be the first edition to feature in-person meetups and talks in over a hundred cities around the world.

The last live Startup School course was three years ago, in the summer of 2019 before Covid-19. Y Combinator has promised participants a reimagined experience designed for a global community of founders, combining the best of online and in-person.

We applied to Ycombinator three times before acceptance - and what made us successful was our ability to articulate the problems we were solving and the opportunities therein.

Another new introduction to the startup school is a track for founders who don’t have an idea yet and are just exploring doing a startup. The last course was designed for founders who already had an idea and were actively working on a startup.

This time, the course is split into two tracks: an “active founders” track and an “aspiring founders” track. Y Combinator expects most of the participants to be in the aspiring founders' track because startup school is the perfect fit for that stage.

Founders in Lagos who want to join the meetup can register on the Startup School website.
