The Unofficial Christmas Party, enhancing cross-company networking since 2014

The Unofficial Christmas Party, enhancing cross-company networking since 2014

The Unofficial Christmas party is a joint end of the year party for companies in Lagos. This year it would hold at Landmark Centre, VI, Lagos on December 14.

Started in 2014 by Funmi Victor-Okigbo, Event Architect and CEO of a 13-year old events agency in Lagos—No Surprises Events Limited. Her company managed the first Google for Nigeria event that held at the Landmark Centre, VI in 2016.

Across the board, many thriving companies throw end of the year parties. However, putting it together could prove difficult.

Funmi and her team understand this problem and have decided to use their expertise in event management and connections to influencers and entertainers to help companies plan an exciting event.

We understand it can be difficult for companies and teams to achieve glamour and excitement at their end of year parties, we also understand the stressful task of balancing that with planning it, so we have all that taken care of for you!

Only that this time instead of planning several company events, they get to host one major event and invite interested companies who send representatives depending on the table package they purchase.

The premise for this joint party is that since companies already do joint hosting for some of their infrastructural services, having a joint party should not be foreign to them.

We said why not extend the same philosophy and approach of the shared services trend in data centres, help desks and customer services; the consolidation of business operations offered to different organizations.

This year, the Unofficial Christmas Party wants companies to party like they were in the 70's and 80's.

They have themed it A Night At Studio54.

Studio 54 was a world-famous nightclub & discotheque that flourished in the disco era in the late 1970s. It had a unique set up because the owners kept many of the former TV & theatrical sets of the original building & invested in amazing lighting design. It was one place you definitely wanted to be because it brought the glitz, glam, elite and who’s who of 1970s corporate & entertainment celebrities every night. It’s also the place where Bianca Jagger rode the iconic white horse at the club.

The dress code is Retro. Disco. Glam!

Reel of previous events

Previous events have brought entertainers like Banky W, Patoranking, Funke Akindele, DJ Cuppy, Adekunle Gold, and Cohbams.

This year, they have unveiled DJ Big N as the official DJ for this year's event. View the playlist on Youtube.

There is a main event where companies can give employee of the year awards in the midst of all present, we imagine this would mean more to the employee as more people get to know about their feat. And an after-party.

How to participate

There are two major ways to participate in the Unofficial Christmas party: as a team (company or group of friends) or as an individual.

As a corporate, you can buy an executive or a premium table. A table gives you access to a 4-course meal, VIP pass to the after-party with celebrities and colleagues, and access to an exclusive CEO lounge. Ten persons per table.

As an individual, you can either find nine of your other friends who would like to attend and pay for a table or simply pay for a single ticket for yourself.
