Univasa has now expanded its operation to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Univasa Nigeria Limited announced the launch of its e-Taxi platform, Univasa in Port Harcourt, a commercial hub in Nigeria.

The launch event which brought together drivers and other stakeholders held at the Emmanuel Event Centre, Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt.

Univasa’s commitment is to make rides safe for drivers and rider partners. And they have built safe-guarding features into their application. During the launch, drivers expressed their happiness at having more opportunities to proffer services to riders in the city.

Speaking at the launch, the CEO of Univasa, Dr. Ben Adeniyi said, "At Univasa, we want to change the transportation industry, and we are committed to using technology and innovation to drive this sector. And that is what has formed this day’s expansion, and we are still moving. We are looking forward to partnerships that will create jobs, provide security and safety when it comes to transportation, and we are not backing out from this quest".

Univasa's launch in Rivers State makes it the third state, after Lagos and Edo, where the company will be operating.

As part of their onboarding plans in Lagos State, the company partnered with the Lagos State Taxi Drivers & Cab Operators Association (LSTDCOA) in December 2020.

The company also announced future plans to expand into Abuja and Ibadan.
