TechCabal to host mobility townhall on September 27

There have been a lot of activities in Africa's mobility sector—a proliferation of bike-, bus-, and ride-hailing startups, as well as tech-enabled logistics companies.

On September 27, 2019, TechCabal will host stakeholders in the mobility sector, including the transportation entrepreneurs, transport and logistics manufacturers, financial institutions, policymakers, and the man on the street, to discuss the challenges of the sector, proffer solutions and set the agenda for future growth.

The seamless movement of goods and persons is considered as one of the factors pertinent to the success of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement, which took effect on May 30, 2019.

The TC Townhall: Mobility is part of the TechCabal's town hall series that bring together stakeholders in different industries. Last year, in partnership with Softcom, it held the Fintech 2.0 Townhall.

What to expect at TC Townhall: Mobility

The mobility townhall is sponsored by Uber—a multinational transportation company—and Lori systems—a logistics company revolutionizing cargo-transport value chain across Africa. It is also made possible with support from Zone Tech Park, where the event will take place on September 27, 9AM prompt, and Odunjinrin & Adefulu—a full service commercial law firm.

The event will feature fireside chats, panel sessions, interactive workshops and product demos. Deep insights about the regulatory and infrastructural bottlenecks in the mobility sector and how to resolve the challenges will also be shared.

New entrants in the sector will also learn from the biggest investors in the sector and better position themselves for fundraising. Investors will also be able to connect with the innovative startups that will be showcasing their solutions.

TC Townhall: Mobility will avail regulators the opportunity to speak with the biggest players and investors in the sector. They will be able to directly share knowledge about their concerns, what they need for success and what will convince them to invest even more money in Africa's mobility sector.
