Web3 Africa Women Fellowship

Afriguild is the fastest-growing Web3 organization in Africa, with a mission of bringing 100 million Africans into Web3 in 5 years by making opportunities in Web3 accessible to young people on the continent. Afriguild’s goal is to inspire Africans to be a part of the global revolution by empowering them to become participants and contributors through education, gaming and community.

Afriguild is putting out a call to women passionate about building skills in web3 to apply for the Web3 Africa Women Fellowship. This fellowship program is created to address the inequalities faced by women and challenge the disproportionate gender inequalities that exist in the web3 space. In addition, the Fellowship will expand access to web3 education exclusively for women.

According to a UNESCO Science Report, companies with more women in managerial positions have been shown to achieve a 35% higher return on investment in the technology sector. However, women in the tech industry constitute only 30% in Sub-Saharan Africa. This poses a significant concern as the lack of gender diversity negatively impacts companies in terms of missed opportunities to create better products and experiences.

With this multi-year fellowship, Afriguild will equip women with skills to ensure they are better prepared and positioned for opportunities in Web3 development, gaming, design, and content creation to name a few. Successful applicants will access global learning opportunities, paid engagements, international mentorship opportunities and many more benefits.
