Aboki Africa announces rebranding, changes name to Grey

Aboki Africa has completed a major re-branding to Grey. The re-branding to Grey reflects the accelerated way the company has grown and expanded in the last year and takes effect from today, February 3, 2022.

Grey is a fast-growing fintech startup that provides digital foreign accounts for Africans to send and receive international payments. One of its unique features is that you can create foreign bank accounts right from the comfort of your home.

The name change signifies our stability, neutrality, and solidity in the financial services industry, the company explained. And as part of the re-branding, they've released a new corporate logo and redesigned their website to align with their growing business model.

Aboki Africa is now Grey

We are expanding our business scope and have outgrown our original mission.

— Grey's CEO Idorenyin Obong

When asked for the reason behind the new brand name, Obong says, "Grey is inspired by the colour. It is solid and stable and inspires calm, balance and composure. That is what we want people to feel every time they use our service".

Grey still offers the same impeccable service Aboki Africa is known for, just under a different name, he added.

Speaking on the re-brand to Grey, co-founder Femi Aghedo said, "The new name and identity are in keeping with the larger perspective of our brand and the products and services we offer to all our valued customers".

Obong and Aghedo co-founded Grey in June 2020 and closed a pre-seed round in November 2021. Grey allows its growing customer base to send and receive international payments without restrictions. It currently offers United States Dollar (USD), British Pound (GBP) and Euro (EUR) foreign accounts to customers.
