Africa Fintech Foundry launches digital academy with Women In Tech Fireside Chat

Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF), will be hosting a Women In Tech Fireside on Friday, June 11 to launch its female digital academy.

The event which is powered by Access Bank kicks off at 10 am WAT. Interested participants can be attend  the virtual event by registering through this link on the AFF website.

5 lucky participants at the fireside chat will get direct admission into AFF’s female digital academy. Instructions for how the lucky winners will be chosen will be related at the event.

Africa Fintech Foundry is a pan-African initiative focused on creating new opportunities in Africa by providing a platform designed to inspire and challenge African innovators and entrepreneurs. Its goal is to provide value for the technology startup ecosystem and beyond by providing thought leadership, accelerating startups, developing innovative technology products, and providing an atmosphere for stakeholders to innovate and deliver value.

This summer, AFF will be launching a digital academy to empower women in tech. The academy will equip up to 50 women with knowledge in key programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and lots more. Participants will also be equipped with soft managerial and business skills to help catapult them to the top of their chosen fields.

In line with the academy’s aim to drive inclusion for women in tech, it will also help participants secure paid internships and jobs.

Through the Women In Tech fireside chat, AFF hopes to lay the groundwork for the academy. The fireside chat which is themed “Women Powering Tech” will bring together industry leaders in tech and venture capital to shine a light on some of the ways women are already excelling in the tech ecosystem.

While the digital academy is female-only, the fireside chat is open to everyone. Through the event, AFF aims to encourage more women to take their rightful space in the tech ecosystem. It also wants to encourage more men to play a strategic role in pushing diversity by training and equipping qualified women and, also providing a safe healthy work environment.
